【摘要】:Thecomparativeodorcharacteristicscanbeused,combinedwithothertests,forproductidentificationandassessingcompliancewithaspecification.Theresidualodorcharacteristicscanbeusedtojudgethepresenceofrelativelynonvolatilematerialsthatmaybeassociatedwithmanufactureorcontaminationduringdistribution.Sincevolatilesolventsanddiluentsareusedinawidevarietyofchemicalprocessesandresidualmaterialsmayaffecttheefficiencyofsuchprocesses,thistestmethodprovidesacomparativetestformanufacturingcontrolandassessingcompliancewithaspecification.1.1Thistestmethodcoversacomparativeprocedureforobservingthecharacteristicandresidualodorsofvolatileorganicsolventsanddiluentstodeterminetheirodoracceptabilityinasolventsystem.1.2Itisnotintendedthatthistestmethodbeemployedtodeterminesubtleodordifferencesbetweenmaterialsortodetermineodorintensity.1.3Itisrecommendedthatthistestmethodnotbeemployedtodeterminetheresidualodorofaliquidifitstimeforevaporationtodrynessatroomtemperatureexceeds30minorasagreedupon.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection4.1.5Forspecifichazardinformation,seethesupplier''sMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS).
