【摘要】:Thistestmethodistobeusedtodeterminetheeffectivenessofantimicrobialsolutionsagainstdesignatedprototypevirusesthatareinsuspension.Theeffectiveantimicrobialconcentrationshouldbedeterminedusingcellculturesasthehostsystemforspecificviruses.Thissuspensiontestisforspecialapplicationsofvirucides,suchasinactivationofvirusesincontaminatedliquidwastes,andasafirststageindeterminingvirucidalpotentialofliquidchemicalgermicides,liquidhandsoaps,OTCtopicalsorotherskinproducts.Regulatoryagenciesmayrequireadditionalteststodemonstrateoverallvirucidalactivity.1.1Thislaboratorytestmethodisasuspensiontestusedtoevaluatetheeffectivenessofantimicrobialsolutionsagainstspecificviruses.Thistestmethodmaybeemployedwithmostvirusesandisdesignedforcellculturehostsystems.1.2Thistestmethodshouldbeperformedonlybythosetrainedinmicrobiologicalorvirologicaltechniques.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Theusershouldconsultareferenceforthelaboratorysafetyrecommendations.1.4ItistheresponsibilityoftheinvestigatortodeterminewhetherGoodLaboratoryPracticeregulations(GLPs)arerequiredandtofollowthemwhereappropriate(40CFR,Part160forEPAsubmissionsandCFR,Part58forFDAsubmissions).Refertotheappropriateregulatoryagencyforperformancestandardsofvirucidalefficacy.

【摘要】:Theproceduresdescribedinthispracticeareintendedtoaidinevaluatingtheperformanceofcoatingsonvariousmetalpanelsincludingeitherneworrustedsteel.Therelativedurabilityofpaintsinoutdoorexposurescanbeverydifferentdependingonthelocationoftheexposurebecauseofdifferencesinsolarradiation,timeofwetness,temperature,pollutants,andotherfactors.Therefore,itcannotbeassumedthatresultsfromoneexposureinasinglelocationwillbeusefulfordeterminingrelativedurabilityinadifferentlocation.Exposuresinseverallocationswithdifferentclimateswhichrepresentabroadrangeofanticipatedserviceconditionsarerecommended.Becauseofyear-to-yearclimatologicalvariations,resultsfromasingleexposuretestcannotbeusedtopredicttheabsoluterateatwhichamaterialdegrades.Severalyearsofrepeatexposuresareneededtogetanx201C;averagex201D;testresultforagivenlocation.Solarradiationvariesconsiderablyasfunctionoftimeofyear.Thiscancauselargedifferencesintheapparentrateofdegradationinmanypolymers.Comparingresultsformaterialsexposedforshortperiods(lessthanoneyear)isnotrecommendedunlessmaterialsareexposedatthesametimeinthesamelocation.TheSignificanceandUseinPracticeG7addressesmanyvariablestobeconsideredinexteriorexposuretests.GuideG141providesmoreinformationonvariabilityinweatheringtesting.1.1Thispracticecoversprocedurestobefollowedfordirectexposureofexteriorpaintsandcoatingstotheenvironmentwhenappliedtometalsurfaces.Whenoriginatorsofaweatheringtesthavetheactualexposureconductedbyaseparateagency,thespecificconditionsfortheexposureoftestandcontrolspecimensshouldbeclearlydefinedandmutuallyagreeduponbetweenallparties.1.2Experienceindicatesthatthemetalusedasatestsubstratehasasignificanteffectuponweatheringresults.Thepurposeofthispracticeistodefinespecificsteelandothermetalsurfacestobeusedfortestinginordertominimizethissourceofvariability.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesisareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
