【摘要】:1.1ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodfordeterminingtheflexuralpropertiesoffibre-reinforcedplasticcompositesunderthree-point(MethodA)andfour-point(MethodB)loading.Standardtestspecimensaredefinedbutparametersincludedforalternativespecimensizesforusewhereappropriate.Arangeoftestspeedsisincluded.1.2Themethodisnotsuitableforthedeterminationofdesignparameters,butmaybeusedforscreeningmaterials,orasaquality-controltest.NOTEForexample,theflexuralmodulusisonlyanappropriatevalueofthetensileYoung’smodulusofelasticityasthetestisnotfortheadditionaldeflectionduetotheshearstresswhichleadstoalowervalueoftheflexuralmodulusbutusestestspan/specimenthicknessratiosthatminimisethiseffect.Differencesbetweentensileandflexuralpropertiesarealsocausedbythematerialstructure/lay-up.1.3Themethodissuitableforfibre-reinforcedthermoplasticandthermosettingplasticcomposites.ISO178,Plastics—Determinationofflexuralproperties,appliestobulkcompoundshavingfibresshorterthan7,5mm.Thisisgenerallythecasewithmaterialsintendedforinjectionmoulding.1.4Themethodisperformedusingspecimenswhichmaybemouldedtothechosendimensions,machinedfromthecentralportionofthestandardmulti-purposetestspecimen(seeISO3167)ormachinedfromsemi-finishedorfinishedproductssuchasmouldingsorlaminates.1.5Themethodspecifiespreferreddimensionsforthespecimen.Testswhicharecarriedoutonspecimensofotherdimensions,oronspecimenswhicharepreparedunderdifferentconditions,mayproduceresultswhicharenotcomparable.Otherfactors,suchasthespeedoftestingandtheconditioningofthespecimenscaninfluencetheresults.Formaterialswhicharenothomogeneousthroughthesection,orabovethelinear-elasticresponseregion,theresultappliesonlytothethicknessandstructuretested.Consequently,whencomparativedataarerequired,thesefactorsmustbecarefullycontrolledandrecorded.
