【摘要】:ThispracticegovernsproceduresandreferencesASTMspecificationsforundergroundinstallationofthermoplasticpressurepiping,63-in.(1372-mm)nominalsizeandsmaller.Itisbeyondthescopeofthispracticetodescribetheseproceduresindetailsinceitisrecognizedthatsignificantdifferencesexistintheirimplementationdependingonkindandtypeofpipematerial,pipesizeandwallthickness,soilconditions,andthespecificenduse.Thispracticeassumesthatovertherangeofanticipatedoperatingconditions,includingmaximumexternalloadingandminimuminternalpressure,thesoil/pipesystemwilloffersufficientstructuralstabilitytoresistpossibleexcessivediametricaldeformation,orevencollapse.Incases,particularlywithlargediameterthinner-walledpipe,forwhichthevalidityofthisassumptionmaybeinquestion,theselectionofpipeandrecommendedinstallationconditionsshallbedeterminedbyaqualifiedengineer.Specificpipecharacteristicsandend-userequirementsshalldictateadditionto,ormodificationoftheproceduresstatedorreferencedherein.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSections10and11.
